“ONLY $10 For GENERAL ADMISSION EACH NIGHT” Big Three Day Weekend of Racing and Custom Cars Starts July 1 with Double Features as Summer Fun Sizzles at New Humberstone Speedway

Port Colborne, ON. – Racing cars and custom cars will share the spotlight at New Humberstone Speedway with the all of the action commencing on Friday July 1. The first Friday of July finds Tidyman Maintenance and Port Colborne Laundry presenting the Canada Day celebration with the Cosco Haulage DIRT-CAR Sportsman, the new Peters Excavating FASTRAK Late Models, Frontier Auto Dismantler Pure Stocks and the Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Trucks on the card. Street Stocks and Mini Stocks have also been added to the July 1st card and all classes will be running “Double Features” to make up for the rained out June 24th event. Drivers will be looking to clean up the many awaiting prizes available on this first night of competition.

On Sunday July 3, the stock car racing will conclude as Extreme Custom Exhaust Performance Parts & Accessories presents the 358 Modifieds, Brian’s Tire Repair Street Stocks, Weekend Motorsports Mini Stocks and Vintage Cars. This will be the second visit of the 358 Modifieds to new Humberstone Speedway this year. The exciting opening round was taken by Chad Brachmann. The evening will finish with a 30 lap Enduro Eve of Destruction Qualifier and a huge fireworks display.

Racing both nights starts at 7:15 sharp with the grandstands opening at 6:00 pm. Admission for both Friday and Sunday’s racing shows is only $12 for adults, while seniors (60+) and students (13-18) get in for $10, children (8-12) are $5 while those 7 and under are admitted free.

The nightly racing will serve as the bookends to the July 2 and 3 Northern Rod and Custom Nationals. The Saturday and Sunday Rod and Custom car show will have upwards of 1000 vehicles on display with both Canada and the United States well represented.
There will be sixty different trophy classes for the cars, trucks, customs, exotic, muscle and racing vehicles on display. Professional car judges will be on hand to perform the evaluation of all entrants. Cars from the early 1900’s to the present day will compete for the coveted Grand Champion honor. The Grand Champion will earn $1000 and the Grand Champion’s trophy. There are even six race and competition classes including oval, drag and road classes.
A vendor’s lane will be on the grounds for those looking for that special part for their vehicle. There will also be a food court, live music and fireworks.
Registration commences at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 2 with judging to start at noon. Final registration is at 1 p.m. Sunday July 3 (awards day) begins at 9 a.m.

General admission for the Northern Rod and Custom Nationals is only $2 per person with children under 12 free. Show vehicle pre-registration is $10 for the two days while the day of show is $15. All proceeds go to the Welland & District SPCA.
There is definitely something for everyone this weekend at the track. Those attending the Northern Rod and Custom Nationals are invited to stay for the thrilling stock car races Sunday evening. There is nothing like a night at the races, come out and feel the power and excitement!
