PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO (July 31, 2016) Brad Rouse from St. Catharines, Ontario was victorious in the 50 lap feature for the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman as part of the All Canadian Championships at Humberstone Speedway on Sunday evening. Rouse’s victory was his 100th of his career. St Catharines, Ontario’s Rob Murray picked up the victory in the Duel on the Dirt event for the JC Auto Street Stocks. Rob Pietz from Gasline, Ontario won the All Canadian Championships for the Pinty’s RUSH Late Models, Dillon Llord from St. Catharines, Ontario earned his sixth win of the season in the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks and Rob Goulding from Port Colborne, Ontario scored the win in the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks for his third win of the season. BJ Willard from Holden Bridge, Ontario picked up the victory in the Vintage Car feature event.
“It is special to get my 100th win at the All Canadian” stated Rouse in victory lane. “I’ve had so many people help me on the way and it’s a good feeling to hit this milestone” Rouse continued.
Darrelll Farraway and Dylan Davidson led the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman to the green and it was Farraway with the lead. Dylan Davidson would use the outside advantage to take over the lead on lap two. Cody McPherson would move into third with Brad Rouse in fifth. McPherson would use the outside to take the lead on lap eight as Brad Rouse moved into third place on lap nine. Rouse would pass Davidson to take over second place on lap 10 and began to chase down McPherson. The leaders would hit lap traffic on lap 20. Rouse to the lead on lap 21 and never looked back as he would pull away from McPherson with Jay Mallory, Davidson and Chad Chevalier racing in the top five. Rouse pulled away from the field to go on to score the victory, his fourth on the season and 100th career Sportsman victory. .
Bryce Richardson and Mark Fawcett led the field of JC Auto Street Stocks to the green flag in the 50 lap feature event as part of the Duel on the Dirt Championships and it was Fawcett showing the way with Rob Murray challenging Fawcett for the lead. Murray would clear Fawcett on lap five and started to pull away from the field. Chris Crawford started eighth on the gird and went into third on lap seven. Murray would catch lap traffic on lap 10. Jim Lampman slowed on the back straightaway to bring out the caution on lap 13. Off the restart, it was Murray showing the way over Fawcett with Dave Bailey, Crawford and Fargnoli raced in the top five. Dave Bailey would take second away from Fawcett on lap 21. Bailey would catch the leader Murray before the halfway mark. The leaders would hit lap traffic on lap 27. Bailey would once again catch Murray while the leader was in heavier lap traffic and Bailey would take the lead exiting turn two on lap 34. Mike Miller spun on the front straightaway to bring out the caution on lap 35. On the restart, it was Murray back to the lead as Bailey, and Jason Fontaine taking over second and third. Fontaine would pass Bailey for second with 10 laps remaining. Murray pulled away from Fontaine in the late stages and he would go on to score the win, his fifth of the season.
John McIntire and Rob Pietz brought the field of the Pinty’s Delicious Foods RUSH Late Models to the green flag for their 30 lap feature event and it was McIntire showing the way. Pietz would be in second with Gillespie, Lunger and Pennacchio battling for fourth. Colton Ledingham got twisted around in turn four to bring out the races first caution on lap nine. Off the restart, Pennacchio would move into second and would challenge McIntire for the race lead. Pennacchio would complete the pass on lap 12 to take over the lead. Lunger would pass McIntire to move into second on lap 14. The caution would come out on lap 15 as Mike Greene and Wyatt VanWart spun in turn one. Rob Pietz would capitalize on the restart to take over the lead. Pietz would pull away from Pennacchio to pick up his first All Canadian Championship in the Late Model division. Jeff Dayman would score in third followed by Chad Homan and Dennis Lunger Jr.
Rob Goulding and Leroy Buscumb pulled away from Brandon Iudiciani early on in the 20 lap feature event for the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks. Kyle Rothwell moved into third on lap six and began chasing down the lead duo. The lead trio pulled away from the rest of the field at the half way mark as the leaders started to hit lap traffic. Kourtney Kocarik spun in turn four to bring out the races first caution with just two laps remaining. On the restart, Goulding would pull away to score the win. Buscumb, Rothwell, Coutu and Haynes completed the top five.
Dillon Llord set the pace early in the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks All Canadian Championships. Jamie Ayers would take second away from Mitch Dumont on lap six. Craig Vlasic would move into the runner up position on lap seven and began to chase down Llord. Llord pulled away from the field and went on to score the victory, his sixth on the season and his first All Canadian Championship. Craig Vlasic would take home second with Jamie Ayers in third with Danny Wurster and Kyle Tomaski completing the top five.
Les Myers and Mark Shadwell set the front row for the Vintage Cars feature with Myers out front over Shadwell and Rick St Pierre. Myers would hit lap traffic on lap three of the fifteen lap feature event. Myers pulled away from the field but got involved in an incident involving lap traffic with four laps to go. This would put Rick St Pierre and BJ Willard on the front row with St Pierre showing the way. Willard would take the lead coming off turn four on lap 12. Willard would pull away off the late race restart to score the victory. Myers and Shadwell scored the qualifying event victories for the vintage cars.
NEWS AND NOTES: 126 competitors signed in pitside for the racing action. Young fan Avery was Lucas Oil/Leslie Motorsports Jr Fan Members of the Week. Avery received a prize pack from Lucas Oil and Leslie Motorsports. As part of being the Jr. Fan Member of the week, Avery said “the most famous words in Motorsports” as well as got the chance to ride in the Pace Car and get picture taken with each of the feature winners in Epic Racewear Victory Lane! Guilty Pleasure played in the party after the races and Redboss Pyrotechnics lit up the sky with a Civic Holiday Fireworks spectacular.
The month of August gets started on August 7th as Zanchin Truck & Trailer presents the second visit of the season by the Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS). In the SOS first appearance this season, Ryan Susice earned his first career Sprint Car victory. The SOS will be joined by a full program of Sportsman, Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pro 4 Trucks.
