The 2014 racing season is just a few weeks away for the Go Nuclear Late Model Series as they get ready for the Atomic Spring Clash that will open the 2014 season at Mohawk International Raceway on April 26th and 27th.
In an effort to ensure a level playing field throughout the 2014 season amongst all of our competitors, the Go Nuclear Late Model Series will introduce the latest tools available for engine tech - including the Cam Pro Plus from Audie Technology. This tech tool will be used at all of our events in 2014. The device will measure duration, opening, closing, centerline, and lobe separation, of crate engines. The rotary sensor measures to 1/10 degree. The linear sensor measures to 1 micron (0.00004 inches). As important as the actual tool is the fact that the series will have independent verification of camshaft legality by the technical staff at Audie.
“Competitors need to know that everybody is playing by the same rules and that they will get a fair shot ”, says series organizer Shayne Tenace, “This new tech tool is just another step in that direction. With the Cam Pro Plus, we will be able to tech engine cams quickly and accurately. As importantly, we will be able to perform this important tech at the track and for multiple competitors.”
The series is also happy to announce the hiring of a trio of new tech inspectors/pit stewards to accompany new Race Director Dean Reynolds. Dan Fuller, Dave Lillie and Jason Rarick will be supporting both tech inspection activities and helping coordinate race activities throughout the night.
