Chub Frank and Charlie Sandercock Take Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series Victories During Excel Tower North Division Events
It was an exciting weekend for the Go Nuclear! Late Model Series this past weekend as the regular Go Nuclear! drivers were joined by World of Outlaw Late Model stars Chub Frank and Clint Smith as the Excel Tower North Division made stops at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night and Brockville Speedway on Saturday evening.
At Mohawk Raceway, World of Outlaw Late Model star Chub Frank from Bear Lake, Pennsylvania was behind the wheel of a Greg Belyea, Excel Tower Service Late Model. He started from the front row and dominated the event picking up his first ever Go Nuclear Series victory. Georgia’s Clint Smith finished in second place, taking the reigns of Shayne Tenace’s car. AJ Kingsley was the highest finishing Go Nuclear Series regular with a strong third place run finishing ahead of Dale Caswell and the Billy Eisele.
The action continued on Saturday night at Brockville Speedway and this time it was Charlie Sandercock taking the victory in a borrowed ride after suffering engine failure the previous night at Mohawk. Sandercock held off challenges from Chub Frank in the late stages of the race to take his first ever Go Nuclear! Series victory. Dale Caswell finished in second while Chub Frank faded to third in the closing laps. Greg Belyea and Harry Halliday rounded out the top five.
