Plazek Inducted Into FOAR Score Hall of Fame

Saturday Dec 8th 2012- JOE PLAZEK was inducted into the Friends Of Auto Racing----Seeking Cooperation Of Racing Enthusiasts "FOAR SCORE FAN CLUB" at their 65th Annual Awards and Holiday Party at the Elks Club in Lancaster NY. Plazek began his racing career at Cayuga Ont in 1977 at 16 years old in their 4 Cylinder Compact Division which he ran for 2 years before moving to the Super Late Models. In 1982 he competed for 1 year at Humberstone Int'l Speedway in the 6 Cyl Limited Sportsman before his career took off in the Big Block Modifieds. 1983 he would continue on the local Tri Tracks of Ransomville, Merrittville and Humberstone to where in July 85 Plazek would get his first BB career win at Humberstone. He would lose the Rookie of the year battle to fellow racer Jimmy Begolo. Plazek would garner a Championship at Ransomville along the way. He would also have a couple front row starts at Super Dirt week along with being a Canandaigua regular for several years. In the late 90s he would slow down his racing running only in selected events and in 2002 he would rejoin the pavement racing at Delaware Speedway Ont and run the entire CASCAR Series fromNova ScotiatoBritish Columbia. Sept of 2002 he ran his final race again at Delaware Speedway. He is in charge of Plazek Auto Recycling in Caistor Centre founded by his Father Ed and Mom Marilyn and enjoys Motocross and Snowmobile Racing with Wife Sue and his 5 Children: Marc, Mike, Fallow, Joel and Jeff. Brother Frank also competed at Humberstone along with Engine Builder Dale Stroud ( DSE1)
